Turbo Petrol Engines

Remapping turbo petrol engines such as the VW 1.8 20V turbo and the Audi 2.7 V6 Bi turbo give very impressive gains of over 50%.

At ecotech we have developed almost 300BHP for the Audi TT Quattro, Seat Leon Cupra R, and Audi S3 engine's - and thats the standard engine, without any other modifications such as induction kits or diverter valves.

We do recommend that these modifications are undertaken prior to the remap. Although this is not essential, it will optimize the running of the engine.

One of ecotech’s most popular remaps is the VW Golf 1.8T. We can take this from 150bhp standard to a huge 197bhp, with very smooth and strong power curves. The torque and overall power increase is immense!

Turbo charge pressure

All turbo engines respond very well to engine remapping, we can adjust the turbo charge pressure electronically from within the engine control unit as well as the fuel and ignition curves. This means we can keep all the original safety features such as digital knock control and over boost protection without compromising on performance and drivability.

Turbo lag

Turbo lag is greatly improved during remapping with the turbo coming in much sooner and stronger than standard and therefore lag is minimised.

Torque

Torque is very important when talking about turbo engines especially when remapping them, you can expect a increase of torque at around 60% from standard - torque is the turning force of your engine, it is this force that propels the car forward faster under acceleration.

Reserve capacity

All new Audi/VW engines have massive reserve capacity. The main reason they have so much reserve is so the manufacturer can sell many different power models of the same car at very different prices. The only real difference between their model versions is software mapping. This is why remapping is so effective.
